The Arctic Ocean is always gaining and losing water in a never ending cycle. This is called the Hydrologic
Cycle. The Arctic Ocean loses water when the wind and sun carry up small particles of water
from the ocean. After that the moisture/water mix’s with air. When the air gets cooler the moisture turns into tiny
droplets of water that then form clouds. Finally after all that the clouds produce snow. All of this makes sure that the Arctic Ocean won’t dry-out.
Scientists have found out what the role of the Arctic Ocean and the Hydrologic Cycle play in the weather structure, one role is the El nino. Warm water temperatures
from the El nino head to changes in the flow of air masses and the development of unusual ocean currents.
The Arctic Ocean
only gets about twenty eight centimeters of precipitation (snow) a year. This is because the Arctic Ocean is so cold and dry. All of this makes less evaporation in the Arctic Ocean, which also makes
a slower water cycle then most of the other oceans.
